Richa Ghosh: India’s Fearless Young Wicketkeeper-Batter Shining on the Global Stage 🇮🇳🔥

Siliguri-born Richa Manabendra Ghosh, 22, is emerging as one of India’s most dynamic wicketkeeper-batters in women’s cricket. Known for her explosive batting and fearless approach in death overs, Richa wears jersey number 13 and plays a key role in the Indian Women’s National Cricket Team. She also represents Royal Challengers Bangalore (WPL), Hobart Hurricanes (WBBL), and Bengal Women domestically.

Richa made her T20I debut against Australia on 12 February 2020 and her ODI debut against Australia on 21 September 2021. Though she hasn’t played Test cricket yet, her impact has been significant. She was instrumental in India’s Gold Medal victory at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou and played a starring role in RCB’s maiden WPL title in 2024. Recognized as one of the best emerging wicketkeeper-batters in world cricket, Richa’s fearless style and match-winning abilities have made her a key figure in India’s women’s cricket setup.

Off the field, Richa comes from a supportive cricketing family in West Bengal. Her father, Manabendra Ghosh, is a former club cricketer and umpire, while her mother, Swapna Ghosh, and elder sister have been pillars of support in her journey. She remains unmarried and focused on her rapidly rising cricket career.
