Pooja Vastrakar: India’s Rising All-Rounder Making Waves in International Cricket 🇮🇳💪🏏
Madhya Pradesh-born Pooja Vastrakar, 26, has emerged as one of India’s most promising all-rounders, combining pace bowling with hard-hitting batting. Nicknamed “Chota Hardik” for her all-round skills reminiscent of Hardik Pandya, Pooja dons jersey number 11
and represents India Women, Mumbai Indians (WPL), and Madhya Pradesh Women domestically.
Pooja made her ODI and T20I debuts against South Africa in February 2018 and played her Test debut against England in June 2021. Known for her aggressive batting in the lower order and consistent medium-fast bowling, she was pivotal in India’s run to the 2022 ICC Women’s World Cup final and contributed to the Gold Medal win at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. She has also been a standout performer for Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League, helping the team in crucial moments with both bat and ball.
Off the field, Pooja comes from a resilient background. She is the youngest of six siblings, lost her mother at a young age, and was supported by her father Babulal Vastrakar, a retired government employee. Pooja remains unmarried and focused on her rapidly rising cricketing career.
