Rajeshwari Gayakwad: India’s Spin Wizard Dominating Women’s Cricket 🇮🇳🌀🏏

Karnataka-born Rajeshwari Gayakwad, 34, is widely regarded as one of India’s finest left-arm spinners in women’s cricket. Known for her accurate line, flight, and wicket-taking prowess, Rajeshwari has been a cornerstone of India’s bowling attack across formats. She represents India Women, UP Warriorz (WPL), and Karnataka Women in domestic cricket, wearing jersey number 1.

Rajeshwari made her ODI and T20I debuts against Sri Lanka in January 2014 and her Test debut against South Africa in November 2014. She gained international acclaim during the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup, where she was instrumental in India’s journey to the final and delivered a historic 5-wicket haul against New Zealand (5/15), one of the best bowling performances by an Indian in World Cup history. She also played a key role in India’s Gold Medal win at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.

Off the field, Rajeshwari is the youngest of five siblings. Her father, Late Shivanand Gayakwad, was a music teacher, and her mother Savitri Gayakwad has been a guiding influence in her life. Rajeshwari remains unmarried, fully focused on her cricketing career and mentoring the next generation of spinners.
